CR-1 (I-130 Relative) Fees

USCIS and the National Visa Center, in their infinate wisdom, now trashes K-3 visa petitions at the NVC on new filings. We saw this coming about a year ago (early 2009), but didn't know how or when they would go about it. Here's some of their argument (never mind the Constitution).

CR-1 Relative Spouse visa services.
1) CR-1 (I-130 Relative) Visa Service. This is a stand alone service for getting a CR-1 immigrant visa. No adjustment of status required if this is followed through ~ takes about 9 months.
2) CR-1 (I-130 Step-Child) This is for child of your spouse - Stepchild of petitioner.
CR-1 (I-130 Relative) visa Service $995
If you married outside the U.S., your spouse became your relative and therefore you must file a Relative (I-130) visa petition. Letting the Relative I-130 visa petition process all the way through, will take approximately 9 months - often less, but the issued visa will be a CR-1 Relative visa, and adjustment of status will be done at the visa interview in your foreign spouse's country. Your spouse will arrive in the U.S. as a "Conditional" Permanent Resident (immigrant).
A foreign child (your step-child) will also require an I-130 CR-1 visa filing. This is done separately. See Information in the next block down....
CR-1 (I-130 Relative Step-Child) Service $695 per child ( Includes Adjustment of Status )
This service is required for each child coming along with the CR-1 Spouse.
NOTE: If Step-Child does NOT come along with CR-1 bio-parent, then the Step-Child must be petitioned later and separately by U.S. Citizen Step-Parent. To order this service, you MUST order the "CR-1 (I-130 Relative) Visa Service" for each such child. That means, a separate order for each child.
In either case, the child MUST be under the age of 21, AND be unmarried.
